As I reflect on my journey into the world of creativity and design, I’m thrilled to introduce the next step in this adventure: NND Studios. This isn't just a name or a business; it's a celebration of passion, ingenuity, and the joy of making things. I’ve always loved working with my hands, bringing ideas to life, and exploring what’s possible when creativity meets purpose. Through NND Studios, I want to share that love with all of you.
Looking back, it’s incredible to see how small steps have led to this moment. My first stepping stone into the world of 3D printing was the iconic Benchy—that little boat that every 3D printing enthusiast knows all too well. It was my first print, a symbol of the learning curve and the promise of what could come next. I remember the excitement of watching it take shape layer by layer and knowing I was just scratching the surface of what I could do.
From my very first Benchy (the boat) to my latest design(coming soon to Etsy)—every print is a step forward.
From there, I took the leap into designing my own creations. One of the first parts I designed myself and printed was for my mom. She has some health conditions that have caused her some frustrations, and one of those was having to use a walker. The first part I designed and made in Fusion 360 was a solution to help her. It was fun and, at the time, a little difficult, but after two attempts, it was perfect. It mounted right into place and fixed her walker. It was such an awesome moment, and I knew then that I had just discovered a passion for creating and building with 3D printers.

These early creations taught me the value of patience, problem-solving, and persistence. With every project, I pushed myself further, constantly asking, “What’s next?” These early creations may not have been perfect, but they laid the foundation for everything that came after.

I’ve always dreamed of being an entrepreneur, but I never really had any idea of how that would work or what it might look like. It’s inspiring, and I think I would be making younger me proud. To have started something that I hope continues to grow, as it already has, fills me with gratitude. This whole journey as Nerdy New Dad has been incredible and full of discovery.
One of the most pivotal moments came when I decided to upgrade my 3D printer with an enclosure. While I didn’t design the enclosure myself, I followed a detailed modification guide to create it for my setup. This project wasn’t just about improving the printer’s performance; it was about taking ownership of my creative process and tailoring my tools to suit my vision. The enclosure not only improved print consistency but also symbolized my growth as a maker and problem-solver.
Fast forward to today, and I’m tackling even more complex designs. These projects have challenged me in ways I never expected, but they’ve also reinforced why I love what I do. Each design is a puzzle, an opportunity to innovate and bring something new into the world. Whether it’s a functional part or a display piece, the process of creating is what drives me.
Some of you may have noticed a new Prints tab on my website. That was something I added, though I wasn’t quite sure at first how I wanted to use it. But I think I’ve found its purpose—it’ll be the place where I showcase some of my prints and projects. While I may not blog about every single print, I’ll definitely highlight the big ones or anything I feel was epic enough to deserve a proper feature. So if you’re curious about what I’ve been working on, be sure to check it out from time to time!

Now, I’m standing on the edge of something even bigger. I have two major projects in the works that I can’t wait to share with you soon. These are more than just designs—they’re statements of what NND Studios stands for: creativity, craftsmanship, and pushing boundaries. Stay tuned for updates as these projects unfold; I promise they’ll be worth the wait.
And, of course, there’s TackleFish—my first official product release. TackleFish is the culmination of everything I’ve learned, a practical and innovative tool designed for fishing enthusiasts. It’s already available on Etsy, and I’m so excited to see where it goes from here. This product is just the beginning, a launchpad for everything I hope to create under the NND Studios banner. I’m incredibly proud of this product and can’t wait to hear how it helps others.
